What is a Alpha-Gal diet?

An Alpha-Gal diet eliminates mammalian meat and products containing mammalian-derived ingredients to prevent allergic reactions in people with alpha-gal syndrome. This includes beef, pork, lamb, dairy products, gelatin, and certain medications derived from mammals. The condition involves a specific sugar molecule found in most mammals, often triggered after a tick bite. People may experience delayed allergic reactions 3-6 hours after consuming trigger foods. The diet focuses on safe alternatives like poultry, fish, and plant-based proteins. When followed carefully, often with guidance from an allergist or dietitian, it can prevent serious reactions while maintaining adequate nutrition.

Probably one of the best butter alternatives.

This is probably one of the best butter alternatives out there. It doesn't have a strong taste, but tastes good and works in pretty much everything I've used it in. I use it to substitute butter on everything from toast to in cookies and pasta.

Melt Organic (buttery & creamy) Spread (Canada)

For almost the same price as a pound of butter, this creamy, easily melting spread, is a reasonable substitute for THIS butter addict. Works on pasta, toast, in soups as a butter replacement. My jury is out on histamine tolerance since I am still learning, so I cannot recommend this yet in regards to that and I suspect it is not low in histamine as it has multiple ingredients. But I have to have some small pleasures as I go on this seriously altered food journey.
