What is a Alpha-Gal diet?

An Alpha-Gal diet eliminates mammalian meat and products containing mammalian-derived ingredients to prevent allergic reactions in people with alpha-gal syndrome. This includes beef, pork, lamb, dairy products, gelatin, and certain medications derived from mammals. The condition involves a specific sugar molecule found in most mammals, often triggered after a tick bite. People may experience delayed allergic reactions 3-6 hours after consuming trigger foods. The diet focuses on safe alternatives like poultry, fish, and plant-based proteins. When followed carefully, often with guidance from an allergist or dietitian, it can prevent serious reactions while maintaining adequate nutrition.

Yummy But Pricey

I’m currently on low FODMAP so these are great toasted, paired with quorn vegan slices, 4 sainsburys olives in parsley sauce and a tiny smidge of vegan butter, it’s delicious! My only issue is they’re a bit pricey for only 4, there could definitely be 6 in a pack, but I’d buy again on the low FODMAP diet!

Low Fodmap Option

Perfect for low fodmap, as a lot of GF bread options have hidden apple or honey. Only wish that they have 6 not 4 in the package, and they can fit it! A bit of wasted space and plastic..
